Volunteer Role Descriptions

Campus/Community Volunteer


  • Requirements

    -  Approved Ministry Leader Application (MLA) 

    - Adhere to FCA Statement of Faith and policies (Youth Protection Policy, etc.)

    - Attend a “Grab Your Gear” Volunteer Orientation/Training


Listed below are various ways to serve, a person is not expected to serve in all the ways listed.


  • Assist with needs/resources for huddle meetings/events/outreaches on campus and off campus (Bibles, food, water, Gatorade, t-shirts, give-away items, etc.) by providing funds, picking up/delivering and/or handing out
  • Help at events/outreaches (set up, clean up, serving food, etc.)
  • Support a team(s) by attending games
  • Provide goodie bags/healthy snacks for a team(s)
  • Help fund, set up, clean up and/or serve pre and/or post game meals for a team(s)
  • Write notes of encouragement to the coaches (at least one note per coach during the school year)
  • Share with your church about FCA

Character Coach


  • Requirements

     - Approved Ministry Leader Application (MLA) 

     - Adhere to FCA Statement of Faith and policies (Youth Protection Policy, etc.)

     - Complete and submit a Character Coach contract

     - Attend Character Coach Training

  • Weekly communication with the FCA Area Representative or the Coaches Ministry Ambassador and Team Coaches during the season
  • Attend practice at least 2x per week for a minimum of 30 minutes
  • Attend at least 75% of home games; attend away games as your schedule allows
  • Work with the FCA Rep and Team Coaches to develop and implement a ministry plan for the team in-season and off-season
  • Facilitate the teaching of “Habitudes” if the Head Coach wants this as a part of the ministry plan for his/her team
  • Engage your small group at church to adopt the team in partnership with you and provide water, Gatorade, bananas, oranges, etc. as often as possible at practice and pre/post game snacks and/or meals for home and away games.

Leadership Board

  • Requirements

     - Candidates meet with the Area Director and Board Chair prior to beginning the selection process

     - Approved Ministry Leader Application (MLA) 

     - Adhere to FCA Statement of Faith and policies (Youth Protection Policy, etc.)

     - Attend Board Orientation & Training

  • The overall purpose of the Leadership Board is to help grow the ministry of FCA using your time, talent and treasure
  • Pray for the staff and all aspects of the ministry
  • Serve by using your gifts, talents and community connections
  • Give personally and encourage others to support the ministry by giving financially
  • 3-year term
  • Monthly meetings August-May
  • Serve on at least one Board Team

     - Ministry Team

     - Prayer Team

     - Communications/Marketing Team

     - Event Team

     - Development Team

     - Finance Team
